I see marriage is a system, and law created by people, the system has been created for heterosexual
couples, people can change the system, some people want to change marriage system to cover
same-sex couples, it is possible in the future people will change marriage system to include
partners more than two. one thing people can not change is Love, Love is not a system.

Love story movies

Love is a word too broad in relationships, I have been thinking that the best
quality in relationships is loyalty, I have seen quiet a few love story movies,
why those movies touch our bottom of heart, is there a common quality
in the love stories to move us? because we always see beautiful actresses
and handsome actors, it is hard to see the best quality in relationships in movies,
one movie really stands out is Brokeback Mountain, this is a movie about gay relationship,
yet it touches everybody’s heart deeply, even for straight guys, I see the almost life
long loyalty in this movie, it is the same quality in other love story movies.
think about this, what if the movie Titanic drops the old woman’s part,
and you don’t see the life long loyalty in the movie Titanic.

say we have choices to choose one person out of ten to be our soul mate,
besides they are all in love, one has best job, one has tons of money, …, the last one
has loyalty, most people believe in true love would choose the one with loyalty,
but why Loyalty (from a philosophy’s points of view)?

Slicehost VPS hosting

I have web sites on shared servers at many web hosting companies,
most those web sites are not mission critical sites, hosting companies charge
about $10 per month, just recently I need to have a dedicated server for
hosting a web site that requires an ip and dedicated port number,
I found slicehost.com for VPS (Virtual Private Server) for $20 per month,
the VPS even allows me to choose OS (Operating System software),
I choose the latest Ubuntu 64 bit, I am very satisfied, I recommend Slicehost
to anyone need VPS.

I wrote to Dreamhost.com support:
I sent emails from Yahoo email to tmp@tmp.com,
or to tmp2@tmp2.com,
I did not receive any emails in tmp@tmp.com,
or in tmp2@tmp2.com

Dreamhost replied:
I am sorry to hear of this trouble. I suspect this is a problem with
Yahoo email, as I cannot replicate it when sending to tmp@tmp.com.
Please note my test email sent there.
I could not test tmp.com, and webmail is not working (have you set the
outside DNS to the correct IP address).

I wrote:
No No, same problem was tmp@tmp.com to/from tmp2@tmp2.com,
there was long delay, I did get email later, your email servers had problems
at the time I contacted web support by message, most likely they could not
handle holiday emails efficiently, your email servers are not powerful enough,
most your engineers are similar to the quality of your servers,
I am not making random comments here, I have been with Dreamhost for many
years, I was a trained network engineer, and also a software programmer,
I had a web site requires VPS, because my experience with Dreamhost,
I do not trust your engineers for hosting this new critical web site, I
moved this web site to a new hosting company and paying a little more,
I am glad I made the move for this web site.

Dreamhost replied:
I’m sorry to hear this is occurring, and it caused you to move to a new
webhost.
Please do not forget to close out your Dreamhost hosting plan, if you do
not plan on using Dreamhost any longer.
Your comments have been noted, and I’ll pass the word along.

Dreamhost did not find out the root cause about email server problem,
the hosting company I use for critical web sites is slicehost.com

Solaris network installation without DHCP

one reason I got this network installation working without DHCP is cdrom drive on T2000 is bad,
Sparc system does not do cdrom boot from external usb,
only way to install OS on it is replace cdrom drive or network installation,
network installation is more interesting than replacing cdrom drive,
here is procedures,

prepare Sparc install server

svcadm enable svc:/network/nfs/server
mkdir -p /export/home/dvdsparc
cd /cdrom/cdrom0/Solaris_10/Tools
./setup_install_server /export/home/dvdsparc
share -F nfs -o ro,anon=0 -d “install server directory” /export/home/dvdsparc
cd /export/home/dvdsparc/Solaris_10/Tools

say you want to install to a client 172.16.1.10 with Ethernet address 00:14:4f:3b:c5:33 and host name t2, run ‘boot net -text’ on the client, boot command will show client Ethernet address, run this command on install server SunFire T2000 platform sun4v.

./add_install_client -i 172.16.1.10 -e 00:14:4f:3b:c5:33 t2 sun4v

on the client to be installed, run this command and follow install instructions,
